Hey everyone, thank you so much for joining me here on the Impactful Influencer podcast. Today, I really want to talk about new value systems. It's one of the predictions that I gave at the beginning of the year of 2024, and here we are creating new value systems. So, as we step into the unfolding chapters of 2024, I find it very pertinent to revisit this question on a daily basis. What does it take to create new values?
Angela Blaha:
In my recent discussions and prediction for this year, the spotlight has been on the assessment and evolution of what we do value. We are currently witnessing this transformation in real time, echoed through the headlines and the evidence in global events. There's clashes everywhere, and the clashes that unfold before us serve as a very strong reminder of the ongoing struggle between those firmly rooted in the old value system and those advocating for the new paradigm to come in. So, as the world grapples with these clashes, it becomes increasingly clear that the journey forward embracing new values is both challenging but yet inevitable. It requires a willingness to let go of outdated perspectives, outdated ideals, outdated thoughts and visions of what we thought the future would be, and to embrace the unfamiliar, which is where the real fear resides. Right, we know that we are in creation times, that we are in this shift of paradigms, and it can lead to much fear. When we are in shifting paradigms, there's fear of the unknown, fear of the unseen. Not really being able to repeat the same old pattern and getting the same old response can be very scary. So the clashes that we are witnessing are not mere conflicts, right, they are symbols, symbols of the collision between tradition and evolution, holding people in oppression versus freedom. Influencing the world with new values can be challenging, but there are a few steps to consider as we seek to make positive impacts on the world and as impactful influencers.
Angela Blaha:
I think that we are the leaders of these four areas that I want to talk about and how we can actually implement them in our lives and how we can share them with the rest of the world. So number one is literally clarifying your values, like what is it that you really place value on? And, before influencing others, I believe that we need to have a very clear understanding of our own values, identifying those principles and those beliefs, literally, that guide all of your actions and your decisions. We need to be very clear about what those are. Step two lead by example, demonstrate the values that you wish to promote in the world. You need to be that person. We are all more influenced by actions than words, so embody what you want to see in the changes that you want to see in the world. You have to be the change that you desire in the world. There's no getting around this portion of it. No matter what paradigm we're changing into, there's still. We still need to embody that.
Angela Blaha:
Step three communication. Be open and respectful in conversations about values. Actually, how many of us have conversations about values? I can say I rarely do with people. Other people, people don't want to talk about what they value, even though it's explicitly expressed in every conversation that we have Diverse backgrounds and perspectives, have different viewpoints. Being open to hearing them is really the key to communication Listening skills. I talk about that frequently.
Angela Blaha:
Step four critical thinking. Create an environment that encourages critical thinking. Question assumptions and consider alternative perspectives. This empowers people to reassess their own values. The easiest way I know to activate critical thinking in people is to ask conscious piercing questions or soul piercing questions. One is that really make people stop and really assess what is it that they are talking about and what is it that they believe.

Creating new values demands open dialogue.

It demands empathy.
Angela Blaha:
It demands a collective effort to understand different and maybe diverse perspectives. It calls for a recognition that change is an inherent part of progress and adapting to this shift is essential. It's important to understand that we are not in a very harmonious coexistence. We have been living in a not very harmonious existence. I don't know about you, but that's one of the things that I value moving forward and that impact can be felt in a variety of ways, big and small. So in the coming months, we're going to see more conflict in value systems.

So let us engage in very meaningful conversations with everyone we know. Let's foster an environment where the exchange of ideas is literally encouraged, where personal genius and intuition become the norm, versus being told how to think and how to feel and what to do. We are all personally ready to create a whole new value system that reflects the diversity and dynamics of an ever-evolving world, that literally encourages your own personal genius.
